Paul Sacks     |     Principal, Chief Investment Officer

Paul is a Principal and Chief Investment Officer at Aurum Options Strategies, with more than 15 years of industry experience.  He has been a member of the world’s premier metals market, the COMEX, since 1997 and is a frequent guest on several financial news networks including CNBC, Fox Business, BNN, among others.  At Aurum, Paul is responsible for trade idea generation, execution and positional risk management.
Prior to co-founding Aurum, Paul founded and managed Twin Brooks Trading, an exchange-designated market making operation in gold options (OG) on GLOBEX.  At Twin Brooks, he successfully navigated various market cycles and fine-tuned a trading strategy that ultimately led to the formation of Aurum Options Strategies.
Paul received his BBA in Finance from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.



Thomas Vitiello     |     Principal

Thomas is a Principal at Aurum Options Strategies, bringing in more than 30 years of industry experience in the gold market.   Since co-founding Aurum Options Strategies, Thomas has had many responsibilities ranging from the construction and evaluation of policies and procedures to monitoring of customer relations.
Thomas joined the COMEX in 1983, where he immediately began forming relationships with top tier banks. Thomas has maintained a pivotal role at the exchange, where he was elected to the COMEX board in 1993 and has since served on various committees such as Arbitration, Adjudication, Business-Conduct, Membership and Facilities.   Thomas is currently serving on the COMEX Governor’s Committee and is a frequent guest on several financial news networks including CNBC, BNN, SKY and Fox Business.
In 1993 Thomas founded VIT Trading, a company which specializes in trading precious metal futures contracts for large investment banks. For two decades Thomas has successfully serviced clients and traded his own proprietary account.
Thomas is very active in charitable endeavors. In 1993, he founded The East Harlem Little League, an organization devoted to bringing baseball to disadvantaged youth and empowering them through values of sportsmanship and leadership. He serves on the boards of the NYMEX Charitable Foundation, the Downtown Athletic Club, the Psychotherapy and Spirituality Institute, and is an Alumnus of the Rockefeller Foundation Philanthropy Workshop.
Thomas received his BS in Finance from New York University 1985.



Kosta Velis, CFP, CIMA     |     Director, Business Development

Kosta is the Director of Business Development at Aurum Options Strategies, bringing in almost 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. With a robust understanding of institutional and retail distribution networks, he is responsible for key strategic and tactical sales initiatives for Aurum.
Kosta began his career at Merrill Lynch as a financial advisor, where he focused on Alternative Investments and Advisory business.  He then made a transition to Citigroup's Smith Barney Wealth Management division, where he was promoted through the company from a Financial Advisor to his final role as the Complex Director and Senior Vice President in New Orleans, a top decile branch of the firm.   Kosta brings extensive knowledge in Advisory Business, Alternative Investments, Asset Allocation and High Net Worth Financial Planning to develop relationships, strengthen existing ties with clients, and identify new opportunities for strategic alliances.
Kosta is a graduate of Southern Methodist University with a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science. He earned his Certified Financial Planner (CFP(C)) designation in 2000.   He also earned his Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA(C)), which he received from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business.   He also holds a variety of FINRA licenses, including the Series 3,7,9,10,63 and 65, as well as a variety of insurance licenses.
